fall came early to minnesota and it be windy dontchya know.

October 5, 2012

Plain and simple, I want to tell stories through my photos. Not in a cliche, trendy, or "make my life look amazing" way, but in an honest way. A true taste of real life. My heart is to tell stories that matter. Stories of people who see the ordinary beauty in the everyday, who joyfully celebrate the good in the hard, who adventure and bless and love extravagantly and live simply and genuinely. Simple stories that matter, because the people living them matter. This is just a small story of an autumn afternoon when the wind chapped our faces but the leaves flew wonderfully. No bells and whistles, no strings attached, just honest images of our real life.

And that's the kind of story I want to tell.

  15. This video made me happy. It speaks of fall and the joy it brings. I love how you captured the wind making the swings rock bak and forth, and how you captured the wind flowing through Grace's hair. I love how the boys ran through the yard as fast as they could. I love Grace's little dance. This was just so lovely.

    Blessings, friend!

    1. Oh, and one more thing... I was watching your other Vimeo videos (all lovely, by the way) and I just loved the song on your "Morning" film. Do you know the name of it? I feel like I've heard it and would love to learn it on piano, but I didn't see the the title.

  30. I love your videos, and pictures for that matter! You do such a wonderful job of telling a story. I just wanted to ask you something. I've been following your blog for over a year, and a while back their were a lot of posts about your faith, and what you were learning about that and things like that. I haven't seen much of that anymore. I'm not assuming anything has changed, just wondered why you don't talk about it anymore. Anyway, maybe it's personal. Please don't think I'm prying. I just was curious, and a little sad.

This is lovely. With the way you capture everything, it is like life just flows in a gentle and simple way. It's so refreshing because today most things are worked up or forced.
