morning // a short film

August 3, 2012

Early morning is a secret favorite of mine. I love the quiet chill of dawn as everything uncurls from sleep. The soft rays of sun that the curtains diffuse into slanting lines brimming with gold. Listening to the hush and stillness of daybreak, poised to speak, may perhaps be my favorite. I woke up a little early today and took the chance to make a short film on our mornings. It's imperfect but it's my first film (and I daresay it won't be my last) so I love it. Enjoy, and happy friday! x

M O R N I N G // a short film from Hannah Nicole on Vimeo.

ps. in my silliness, I made it as a small file size, which is why the quality is tepid at best. oh, well. live and learn, right?

  21. thank you all, so much. :) @emily, I used a Canon 5D MK2 + 50mm 1.4 to shoot it, edited it in iMovie, and color-graded it in LR4 with VSCO film.

  29. Love this Hannah, I so love this. The music you chose gave the whole video a calm and peaceful feeling. You captured the essence of mornings so well and I loved the in-focus and out-of-focus camera shots you used and the different angles as well. Your siblings are so cute. I wonder, were your sisters refusing to be videotaped in the morning? ;)

    beautiful beautiful beautiful.

What programme do you use to make your films? I recorded some film on my camera back in January when I first got it, but never knew what programme to use.
