2:15 (or so) in the afternoon rolls around, and we'll usually find Grace sitting at the table next to the window (midday sun streaming hot inside) with a book in her hand. She's so serious when she reads, unlike the rest of the time. What's an everyday occurrence at your home? My family has become very talented in the fine art of ignoring a camera, which I'm glad of. I like real-life, not "now pretend you're reading! now smile" kinda shots. Happy Friday!

lovely freckles, as always. and such beautiful beautiful eyes! and everyday without fail occurrence would have to be my brothers... and legos. i'm sure you have the same thing. :)
ReplyDeleteOhh, such lovely pictures! I love that she's reading the American Girl books too...Kirsten was always my favorite. :)
ReplyDeletelife in a nutshell
Hannah, I like this. A lot. You captured the moments so perfectly--seriously, you'd make an excellent photojournalist.
ReplyDeletexoxo.
Ah yes. The american girl series. I remember reading those as a kid. Love the pictures chica!
ReplyDeleteoh american girl. goodness gracious. i still read those occasionally!
ReplyDeletei truly agree about natural family moments. i'd rather we just let everything be the way it is, not to make it something more spectacular, but more importantly: different.
a normal occurrence at my house is at around 9pm, when mommy finally comes downstairs from her work and plops down in her favorite chair, gearing up to watch the cosby show + little house on prairie, and dr. quinn medicine woman. she always asks for tea {i'm the only person who makes it}, and sometimes she even makes rice pudding. it's a favorite time.
great post :))

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, I love reading too.
ReplyDeleteawe, what a lovely little shoot! you really captured the "real-life"! I love photos like that!
ReplyDeleteHannah, I love how real this is. You don't find a lot of bloggers today who are willing to do a simple post about everyday afternoons, and it means a lot to be that you do. :)
ReplyDelete"Meet Kirsten"! I remember reading that book when I was about eight. I counted myself very smart if I read it in one day. :P
xoxo,
~Bree
she's darling. looks like me when I read, if I'm really into it. and oh--Kirsten used to be my favorite american girl. (:
ReplyDeleteI love how normal, everyday life looks beautiful through your photos. You seem to always find the perfect windows and light! I blame all the bad lighting in my house to log walls, and being in a valley surrounded by trees. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to love the American Girl books + dolls! I had the dolls Addy, Molly, + Josefina :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! My cousin and I were obsessed with American Girl, lol. Your sister is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love impromptu shots that look genuine. She's so cute. (:
ReplyDeleteI love this post!
ReplyDeleteI love the distressed look on your dining room table! You captured some beautiful shots of your sister. What an avid reader she is! My sister and I also read the American Girl books when we were young.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet moment to have captured! p.s. I adore the your blog design, it's great
ReplyDeleteThat face is seriously exactly what I look like when I'm reading. Power to the serious readers!
ReplyDeleteI love it! She has the sweetest face! I love the simple moments you capture.
ReplyDeleteAn every day occurrence in our house? "Music time." Nearly every morning after my boys get dressed they go upstairs to play music: usually the 2 year-old is on the drum set, one of the twins is on the keyboard, and the other twin has the guitar. They like to pretend they're having church. ;-) It's REALLY loud, but sweet.
