Once upon a time
there was a girl named Grace
who turned ten on April 12th
and everyone knows that ten is a very big age.
for her tenth birthday,
she had her best friend, Belle, sleepover
and she got her ears pierced
even though it was a little scary
she sat bravely in the chair
holding it fast
exuberant, but somewhat frightened
then came the big moment
belle gripped her hand tightly for her
the piercing was fitted and shoomp! the earrings were in
and she gasped and started crying
looked at herself in the mirror, at her ears
and smiled.

awww! happy birthday grace! what a gorgeous post. i remember getting my ears pierced, it did hurt for a bit!

Love it! I was 6 when I got my ears pierced and I cried on the second ear because I knew what to expect! The first one just shocked me! Growing up is fun and scary, and this just depicts it perfectly!

ReplyDeleteThis was precious. Your sister will treasure it for years to come. I showed it to my 8 year old hoping she would see the ear piercing she so desires - does hurt a little. She answered, "But Mom - see how HAPPY she is at the end!" Very sweet photos. Well done!
